The Department of Home Affairs has issued an amended circular on 21 December 2023, announcing that the concession for long-term temporary residence visa holders has been extended until 30 June 2024 due to the current backlog.
The Department of Home Affairs released an important announcement providing yet further relieve to foreign nationals who are awaiting the outcomes of their pending waiver applications, long-term temporary residence visa applications and visa appeal applications in South Africa as a result of the ongoing backlog.
On 21 December 2023, the Department announced that foreign nationals who applied for waivers, long-term temporary residence visas and appeals which applications are still pending as at 30 November 2023, have been granted a further temporary extension of their current visa until 30 June 2024.
This is good news for those who have been affected by the backlog and have been waiting patiently for their said applications to be processed.
