On 11 April 2023, the Minister of the Department of Home Affairs issued Immigration Directive 5 of 2023, which introduced the following changes:
- Radiological reports are now waived, removing the need for applicants to submit such reports when applying for a visa or permanent residence permit.
- Police clearances are partially waived, and are only required from countries where the applicant has resided for longer than 12 months after turning 18 years old during the 5 years immediately preceding the intended visa or permit application.
