Changes to Visa and Permit Requirements

On 11 April 2023, the Minister of the Department of Home Affairs issued Immigration Directive 5 of 2023, which introduced the following changes:

  1. Radiological reports are now waived, removing the need for applicants to submit such reports when applying for a visa or permanent residence permit.
  2. Police clearances are partially waived, and are only required from countries where the applicant has resided for longer than 12 months after turning 18 years old during the 5 years immediately preceding the intended visa or permit application.
